Imperial War Museum North explores how war and conflict affect the lives of people and how they have changed the world we live in. The building itself, designed by Daniel Libeskind, is a striking feature on the Salford Quays skyline. The museum has numerous thought provoking and educational permanent exhibits, such as The Big Picture, which is an audio and visual display of memories, images and sounds of war. There???s also a display of large objects each with their own story, such as the artillery piece that fired the first shell from the British side in the First World War and much more.
